About Michelle

Hello! I’m glad you’re here! Thats me up there. The one in the dress. I got married in 2013 to my best friend, Austin. I love sad songs, chocolate, beautiful light, rainy days, cats, cake, elderly couples that still hold hands and I’m constantly holding back tears while I’m shooting a wedding! I also have a slight obsession with having my nails done…

I began shooting weddings in 2002 and officially started Michelle Jones Photography in 2008. I shoot weddings full-time. Weddings are my focus and my passion. It’s important to me that I take a limited number of weddings each year so that each couple receives my full attention.

My approach to photography is documentary, meaning that I anticipate and shoot moments as they naturally happen to capture the genuine emotions and events of the day. I will pose you and your family for portraits and work with everyone to get genuine expressions. My work is based on authenticity. No cheesy poses or fake smiles on my watch! I trust that in browsing my portfolio that you will agree. I want my couples to remember what a great day they had, not the awkward pose the photographer made them do! In keeping with authenticity, your photos are lightly edited to enhance the natural beauty of the images and the people in them without looking fake and overly airbrushed. I don’t use trendy filters in order to keep your images from looking dated in the next decade. I want to give you timeless, beautiful, genuine images to remember how beautiful your day looked and felt.

Personality-wise, I’m professional, organized, detailed and quiet, yet also a smiling, giggling, patient, goofball dork! I am told I put people at ease and help make the day stress free. I am outgoing when needed, and when appropriate, a ninja photographer lurking in the shadows. I will help you create a wedding day itinerary to ensure we plan enough time for the photos that are important to you with beautiful sunlight for gorgeous imagery. In addition to me, regardless if you choose to have 1 or 2 photographers, I typically have an assistant and they are responsible for keeping us on track and gathering your people for photos (among many other things!).

I would love to meet with you and hear all about your big day!
